About Us

We are a non-profit organization that assists to educate people in underserved communities of Kambaala village in Uganda. Our priority is to help children in the free, public, primary school of Kambaala to get scholastic materials needed for schoolwork, such as textbooks, pens, pencils, rubber erasures and other basic resources that are necessary for an effective teaching and learning environment. We operate from a one room classroom library that serves as a learning center for learners from preschool to grade seven. The classroom seats twenty-five students at a time and is open for individual as well as group use. Temporary teaching assistants currently supervise it. We are looking for a qualified full-time teacher to teach students how to use resources in the classroom library.

Accomplishments in 2024

Because the need is so great and our resources are extremely limited, we set up what we call a “classroom library” to help as many students as are registered in the public school we serve. The classroom library is a one-room resource center with a teaching assistant and textbooks for different primary grade levels. It currently holds textbooks for grades five to seven and reference books such as atlases and dictionaries. The library holds other sharable resources such crayons and color markers. Plans are underway to add textbooks and other resources for all grade levels and a full-time instructor to teach and manage sharable resources.

The classroom library seats at least twenty-five students. It is an open space for children to study privately or in groups with the help of their classroom teachers or with the help of the teaching assistant.

In 2024, we distributed free exercise books, pens, pencils, and rubber erasures to over 300 students. We hope to do the same this year 2025 to ensure that at least those who show up to study have scholastic resources to work with. Many children commonly show up for school with nothing to use for classroom work and nothing to meet other basic needs for the day.

Future Plans

Depending on the availability of resources, we hope to tackle next the education of youths and adults who are currently illiterate but wish to acquire the basic skills in reading, writing, and counting. Youth & adults will need individualized school schedules.
